1. Leave of Absence is generally defined as a right granted to officials and employees not to report for work with or without
pay as may be provided by law.
           2. An absent day will not result when:
Due to an initial on the job injury; a teaching and non-teaching personnel is sent home by the department head with the
               school nurse recommendation.
           3. Failure to report to work or notify the department head or supervisor of absence for five consequently scheduled workdays
is considered abandonment of position and will be considered a voluntary resignation from employment.
                4. Absent before and/or after holiday (Holiday Entitlement Policy)
A full-time employee must be on pay status the day before the holiday and the first scheduled work day after the holiday to
be eligible to receive compensation for the holiday. An employee on an approved leave of absence without pay on the day before or
the first scheduled work day after the holiday is considered to be on pay status and is eligible for the holiday pay as long as the unpaid
leave does not exceed the time period specified in the leave form. Employees who have been suspended for disciplinary reasons for a
period that includes or immediately precedes or follows a holiday is not eligible for holiday pay for that holiday. Employees who have
an unauthorized absence immediately preceding or following a holiday is also not eligible for holiday pay for that holiday. Section 6,
Rule IV, Book III of OMNIBUS RULES IMPLEMENTING THE LABOR CODE
