Jyoti Kaur is a first-year student in the Chandigarh University, Chandigarh. The
college is led by the Dean, who is a retired service personnel from the Indian
Navy. The dean is a role
model for many of the
students. So, students at

direction. Jyoti discusses
her aspirations to join the
armed forces of the
country to the dean and mentions her past academic and sports endeavor
which include mostly adventure trips to different places. The dean was very
impressed and motivated the lady on the officer like qualities that are needed
in the armed forces. Jyoti was very motivated after the discussion and
therefore engaged herself right in the lines i.e continued participation in
sports, participation in other activities of extracurricular, being part of event
management team, mentoring the juniors on weekends and after college
hours etc. At her final year she cleared the Combined Defence Service
Examinations (OTA) and got recommended with flying colors. She returns to
the Dean for thanksgiving and in reciprocation the dean congratulated her
and expressed the pride. She also got felicitated from the University.
