Module 1: Learning the Cognitive Framework Teacher’s Guide
Objective: Learning eye hand coordination for tracing over lines
Lesson Plan:
Print off a visual planning activity sheet of your choice from pages 54-63 in the Activities Manual or IWB241-245. In small groups or within a full class
1. “Let’s trace over the buttons”.
2. “Look at the lines and move the pencil over the shape”.
3. “When you have finished you can colour the buttons in”.
Further activities:
There are many activities in the Activities Manual with progressions
to offer challenge to children of different ages and abilities.
More to Learn:
Encourage children to take their time, keep looking at the lines and shapes and allow the hand to be guided by the eyes.

The activities get progressively more
challenging and the children need to work through them in number order to master the skills. It is best to repeat different sheets to
ensure the child consolidates their
visual planning and discrimination skills.
• Practice integration of the hand movements when being guided by the eyes.
