Copyright 2018 Shelley Birkett-Eyles. Hemispheres Think Write Handwriting Programme
Objective: Matching the animal character to the starting shape
                           Lesson Plan:
Building and reinforcing the cognitive association between the animal characters and their starting shapes.
1. On a table provide the children with a copy of pages 8 from the Activities Manual or print off page IWB111 from the IWB programme.
Also provide a pair of scissors and glue stick.
2. Demonstrate and explain to the children that they are expected to cut out the animals and their shapes. Once cut out the children are asked to glue the picture of the animal character next to their starting shape onto a copy of page 9 from the Activities Manual or print off the same page from the IWB programme.
3. The children can then complete the worksheet independently.
 Things to Consider:
Support:
If the children cannot yet cut out the shapes accurately, they can be cut out for them. They can then glue them into position by matching the images together.
