Module 2: Getting Ready for Writing Teacher’s Guide.
                          Lesson Plan:
Developing early motor control in combination with eye-hand coordination.
1. On a table provide the children with a copy of pages 67-69 from the Activities Manual or print off page IWB227/229 from the IWB programme and a selection
of pencils.
2. Demonstrate and explain to the children that they are expected to follow the dotted line, drawing a line from one picture to the other, staying inside the lines.
3. The children can then complete the worksheet independently.
Things to Consider:
Support:
Use hand over hand to help support young children so they can ‘feel’ the movement and understand how to control the movement in their upper limbs.
Use vertical surfaces, this helps with visual tracking.
Large movements are easier than small movements. Create opportunities to do similar activities within the classroom environment.
