CAREER & TECHNICAL EDUCATION ELECTIVES
Students can complete a pathway in Career and Technical Education by successfully completing three courses
in each concentrated area.
Audio-Video Technology & Film Pathway
Audio/Video Tech & Film I: Lights, Camera, Action! Explore the video industry; including film, broadcasting,
and live streaming. This is the introductory course for the Audio-Visual Technology & Film pathway.
Audio/Video Tech & Film II*: Students take the concepts learned in AVTF 1 and use them at a higher level.
More emphasis is placed on the film industry and students use DSLR cameras as well as industry-standard
equipment. Popular projects include short films, music videos, and video contests with cash prizes. This is the
second course for the Audio-Visual Technology & Film pathway.
*Prerequisite: Successful completion of Audio/Video Tech & Film I.
Audio/Video Tech & Film III*: Students are given independent projects and focus on areas of video production
that align with their passion. Students will finish the course with their own video portfolio called a reel. This is
the third course for the Audio-Visual Technology & Film pathway.
*Prerequisite: Successful completion of Audio/Video Tech & Film II.
