JULY 2020 EDITION
PTO can be used in minimum increments of 1 hour. To schedule planned PTO, employees should request advance
approval from their supervisors. Requests will be reviewed based on a number of factors, including business
needs and staffing requirements.
Employees who have an unexpected need to be absent from work should notify their direct supervisor before
the scheduled start of their workday. The direct supervisor must also be contacted on each additional day of
unexpected absence.
PTO is paid at the employee's base pay rate at the time of absence. It does not include overtime or any special
forms of compensation such as incentives, commissions or bonuses.
Used PTO should be reported each pay period via Dayforce. You can check your PTO balance in Dayforce, which
summarizes hours taken, hours accrued and ending balance. Notify the PeopleTeam immediately if you find an
error in the PTO report.
Employees are not permitted to go into a negative PTO balance. Only available accrued time will be considered
for approval.
Unused accrued PTO will be paid at end of employment with Diversified. PTO may not be used once a two-week
notice of employment termination is given.
Please see the updated PTO policy on OneStop for additional information and details on the Sales PTO plan.
Bereavement Leave
Employees who wish to take time off due to the death of an immediate family member should notify their
supervisor immediately. Up to three (3) days of paid bereavement leave will be provided to benefits-eligible
employees. Consideration for the amount of leave will be guided by the relationship and any travel which may
be required.
Bereavement pay is calculated based on the base pay rate at the time of absence and will not include any special
forms of compensation, such as incentives, commissions or bonuses.
Bereavement leave will normally be granted unless there are unusual business needs or staffing requirements.
Employees may, with their supervisors' approval, use any available paid leave for additional time off as necessary.
For the purpose of this policy, "immediate family" generally includes anyone whose relationship with the
employee is one of the following:
• Spouse/domestic partner*, parent, grandparent, child, grandchildren, sibling, aunt, uncle or cousin
• Spouse/domestic partner’s parent, child or sibling
• Child’s spouse/domestic partner
• Spouse/domestic partner’s grandparents or grandchildren
