11B-Ocean Conservation is the protection and preservation of
ecosystems in oceans and seas through planned management in order GRADE 11-B
to prevent the exploitation of these resources. So, in order to have
a perception about this, students of 11 B were engaged in their Drop-
Down Day (8 Sept,) which is also called ‘off-timetable day.’
The main purpose of this day is to replace structured classroom
lessons, with activities that strengthen students’, practical
application of skills and provide a deeper learning experience. Our
school provided a platform to our students to highlight the need for
Conservation of Ocean. It provided everyone with a chance to
interpret and create an avenue towards change.
The class was enthralled by PowerPoint presentations and interactive
video sessions which had active involvement of the students. The
class members discussed the actual state of how our ocean is
depleted globally as well as setting up a strategy for adopting
measures which would let us live and let live peacefully.
After these sessions, a poster making activity was held in which
students were told to make posters on marine conservation. Students
were delighted to have this opportunity to share their ideas on marine
conservation. Students were divided into groups and posters were
made with creative and inventive ideas. Finally, the posters were all
pasted in a chart forming poster collage.
The activity was intended to make the students know about how
marine species face difficulties in their life due to our convenient and
greedy life.
‘’ I am disappointed that we human treat this species so lowly but
after this has come to light, we need to take due measures and
responsibilities to ensure that they also live a happy life’’, said a
student. This campaign mainly concentrated on the causes, its impact
and solutions to the issue.
Students were all excited to make posters which would moreover
create awareness among others as well. The discussions and ideas
were openly and lively addressed to enhance the posters and the
groups made wonderful and many more colorful creations which would
attract the prompt attention of others towards this issue.
Eventually the activity created awareness amongst students
regarding the marine conservation. Finally, students took oath to
promote healthy and safe ocean ecosystems and to help prevent
things that threaten oceanic and human life. Drop-Down day provided
students with the ability to be equipped with valuable life skills which
extend beyond the classroom context, serving to promote overall
health and well-being. It concluded with a strategic mission in
creating an approach towards our marine friends and our environment.
