P. 19

The following part of the event was handled by the third group delving

in the sub- topic- ‘What happens if We Don’t protect our ocean?’. They

tackled the following vital points that take primary precedents in Ocean
      Conservation: -

        • Importance of taking care of our eco system i.e. ‘our peers’ or ‘little
        ones’.

        • Ocean provides required renewable energy i.e. generating

        electricity from waves and tides.
          • Marines life especially fishes provide 20% percentage of our protein
        intake.

        • Oceans affect weather and climate.
        • Ocean influences our health and well-being.

At the end of this session, students shared instances of seeing the

effect of lack of Ocean Conservation in real-life.

The fourth and final group presented their topic- Prevention of Ocean
Pollution and Ocean Management. Their presentation included details

about the concept of Ocean Management. Prevention of Ocean Pollution

was also discussed clearly. The Fourth group ended their presentation
with a logo making contest. The last part of the event included a session

presided by the first group (in-charge group) where various mind-
jogging and recreational activities were conducted.

Part of those activities was a Quiz, with the time allotment of 10

minutes. After the Quiz, a ‘chain game’ was played where students were
required to utter a word correlating to ‘Ocean’. The time limit was 5

minutes. After this, students of the class were shown videos relating to
‘Ocean Conservation’ for the better edification topics discussed above.

After the video clips, students were allotted 20 minutes to prepare
on the spot posters depicting their thoughts, knowledge and new

learning of the day. These posters were later on displayed on the

class bulletin board. The final part of the entire event included a
ceremonious plenary where all knowledge was cross checked. At the

end of the day, students thoroughly enjoyed this learning experience
wherein they not only gained knowledge but were provided with the

opportunity to apply that very same knowledge. The objectives

stated above were achieved by all students. Minimalistic Teacher’s
involvement and aid was much appreciated, recognized and indulged

by the students which allowed the students to open themselves and

their existing intellect to more ideas and ways of expression.
