Earth Day is about raising awareness on the importance of protecting our planet and
taking action. Young students can, and do, make a big difference. Science Week
commenced with the activities for Earth Day to spark a passion in students that drove
them to do their part to take care of the Earth. The tiny tots of GIHS Kindergarten
explored the natural objects enabling them to appreciate the gifts from nature and
learning the importance to conserve them.
Grade 1 students had poster making competition, Grade 2 prepared Terrariums, Grade
3 prepared collage on endangered, rare species to develop collaborative learning skill,
Grade 4 students solved mysteries on environmental challenges and Grades 5-12 had
Science Extempore with topics related to protect our Planet Earth.
Science Quiz can make science relevant by allowing students to develop scientific
aptitude based on their own interests.
