Principal, Mr. Mohammed Ali welcomed the
gathering, highlighted the importance of the day
and urged the students to remember and pay

tribute to the sacrifices of the patriots and
martyrs who laid down their lives in the freedom
struggle.

Special assembly was conducted by both morning

and afternoon sessions to mark the
Commemoration Day.The morning session, phase
2 students, wearing traditional dresses recited an
Arabic poem on ‘The Shaheed’.The Arabic and
Islamic Education Department students of phase
2,3 and 4 presented inspirational speeches on the

importance of Commemoration day and skits on –
‘The Flag, The Inspiration’ and ‘Tribute to
Shaheed’ that acknowledged the selfless service of
veterans, fallen martyrs and marked the
significance of the day in a citizen’s life.

The main attraction of the afternoon session was
a skit was performed by the students of phase 3
with the theme ‘Patriotism’ which is a great
virtue.Through the skit, the students avowed
loyalty to the national identity and true
belonging to the state.

GIHS salutes the martyrs who are stationed in the
arena of dignity, respect and integrity of the
nation and for raising its national flag high.
