MATHEMATICS CLUB
MATH PUZZLE BOOKLET (GRADE 4-12)
Mathematical puzzles make up an integral part of recreational
mathematics. The objective of the Math Puzzle Booklet is to build
a critical challenge in improving the quality of mathematics, build
new mathematical knowledge through problem solving; an
opportunity for students to apply and adapt a variety of
appropriate strategies to solve problems; help to develop concise
logical arguments.
Majority of math club students created their own puzzles and some
used online resources and library books. Creating puzzles, helped
the students to develop number sense, logical thinking, problem
solving, which is the foundation of mathematical understanding.
QUIZ CLUB With the intention to promote interest in equipping with more information
about the world around and enabling to face the competitive world, GIHS
strives to provide uttermost care in nurturing the students with different
activities.
Quiz club has been given the responsibility to meet the quest of the growing
young minds through different sets of Quiz games. In this term the club has
decided to educate and test the knowledge of the students in connection with
the important facts on UAE.
Therefore, the club members were announced to prepare all the important
major and minor details about UAE. On the day of event four rounds were
conducted.
The members were divided into six groups with four members in each
group varying from different classes.
Round 1- Where? & What?
The important landscapes, tourist spots, national emblems, Special features of
UAE were covered in the first round. Students were very much aware about
most of the details. Some amazing and unique details about them were shared
as tips.
Round 2 - Do you remember?
Historical Dates, currency, wildlife, future projects and Expo 2020 related
questions were posted. There was an overwhelming response from students. It
proved their eagerness in knowing the past and the future of the promising
land they live.
Round 3- Rulers and Crown Prince:
As a matter of reverence and responsibility, questions based on the
achievements and roles played by the past, present and the future rulers were
Winners Score: 48/60 asked. The knowledge of the students about the rulers was commendable.

AALIYA – 4C At the end of the third round there was a very close chase among three groups
SONNA SHANTY BIJU – 6B in their scores. Keeping this sort of good participation from the students, the
final round was been decided to be bit more challenging.
RACHAEL – 9B
HARITHA – 10A Round 4- Rapid Fire Round
There were 15 questions related with all round information about UAE were
asked. The time bound task was really a challenge yet there were some
students with enhanced general knowledge about UAE.
The winners team was appreciated with the great applaud from the other
teams and a small token of success. The other groups have taken a challenge
to compete with them in the next club meeting with more promising scores.
