Plastic in any form or of any quality is harmful to health. We would want to avoid exposure to all
forms of plastic but banishing it completely seems unrealistic and impractical. But we can start with
more awareness about the little ways with which we can reduce our exposure to plastic and reduce
the plastic pollution which is impacting our marine life, food chain and public health.
The GIHS Environmental Ambassodors initiated a campaign in school to save our environment by
observing September 2019 as a day ‘Say No to Plastic Bag’.GIHS Eco Warriors made newspaper
bags and carried reusable bags to school.The Environmental Ambassodors carried out a signature
campaign taking a pledge not to use single use plastic bags.The message was also spread
through e-posters on ‘No Plastic is Fantastic’ and ‘Do Something Drastic, Cut the Plastic’.
When we come together and make small changes , it adds up to make a big difference. Commiting
to earth-friendly acts and making more sustainable choices help us create a healthy and more
sustainable future.
