SEED
GERMINATION

❖ To discover the conditions needed for germination.
OBJECTIVES ❖ To explore the effects of light, temperature and
water on germination.

The students were asked to drag seeds on the trays and
clicked lights to turn on or off, clicked coils to adjust heat

and used sliders to adjust water. They watched how many
sprouted and examined what factors affected

germination. Then they changed the amount of heat,

water and light the seeds got. From this activity the
students were able to understand that the requirements
for germination will vary for different seeds. The amount

of air, water and warmth are important for germination.
