Shelley Roberts (she/her)

Publications Officer – a part-time role which involves working closely
with the Principal, compiling and editing the College’s annual
magazine, Luce, and maintaining communication with alumni.

Shelley graduated with Honours in English Language and Literature
from the University of Melbourne in 1974. The following year she moved
to the UK where she obtained a Post- Graduate Certificate in
Education from the University of London and taught English for two
years at a school in Surrey. A move into book publishing via the
Publishers Association in London preceded a return to Australia and a
long career in the world of books, encompassing senior
communications and marketing roles at Oxford University Press, Nelson
Publishing, Collins Booksellers and the State Library of Victoria. An
alumna of Janet Clarke Hall, Shelley treasures her memories of College

days and welcomes the opportunity to engage with JCH alumni.

Margaret & Maria (Rise-n-Shine)

Cleaning Contractors – responsible for keeping our College’s
common areas and bathrooms extra clean and tidy

Margaret and Maria have worked at JCH for many years. Please do
say hello and spend the time to get to know them. Maria (left) looks
after ground floor facilities during weekdays and Margaret (right)
looks after the upper floors. After a hard day’s work you can find
Margaret relaxing at home, and Maria enjoying a zumba class or two!

With Margaret and Maria in mind, we encourage you to adopt the
philosophy of ‘leaving a space better than you found it’ out of
respect for all that they do. Stay tuned to meet our new cleaner who
will look after the weekend shifts!
