Eva Rees (she/her)
BA (Hons)
Teaching Areas: Literature, Islamic Studies

Eva completed a double major in Islamic Studies and Literature at the
University in Melbourne in 2023, and her honours year in 2024, with a
thesis titled ‘Reading Speech Genres of Secrecy in Oscar Wilde’s De
Profundis’. Alongside volunteer work with Youth Referral Independent
Person Program, Eva works as an actor and playwright, who has worked
at Melbourne Theatre Company, Malthouse, Red Stitch, Northcote
Town Hall and Theatreworks. She is currently undertaking her Masters in
Social Work. When she is not working, Eva enjoys reading, camping, and
watching AFL.
Aidan Carter (he/they)

Aidan has degrees in foreign languages, international relations, and
higher education from the University of Melbourne, La Trobe University,
and the University for Foreigners of Perugia (Italy). He recently
completed his second master’s degree in Translation and Interpreting
at RMIT.
He currently works at the Australian Trade and Invest Commission
(Austrade), and volunteers at Out For Australia – an organisation that
provides role models, mentors, events and support to aspiring LGBTIQA+
professionals. He has worked as a Resident Tutor in Melbourne since
2019, and often tutors in the other residential colleges and at the
University of Melbourne. His professional experiences includes 6 years’
experience in tertiary research and teaching, as well as roles as an
English teacher and interpreter in Italy.
He originally hails from rural Victoria (near Daylesford) and moved to
Melbourne to attend university. In his spare time, he enjoys learning
languages; travelling the world; music; and keeping fit through running,
swimming, tennis or cycling.
