88% of Taiwanese sea cruise travellers recalled a Duty / Tax Free service either on-board the ship or at a port store during their most recent trip. Of those aware of a Duty / Tax Free service, 94% go onto browse the offering, of which 94% go onto make a purchase.
Similar levels of purchasing are the case at both on-board and on-land stores. Leading categories browsed and purchased by Taiwanese sea cruise travellers include Confectionery & Souvenirs.
AWARENESS
Taiwanese travellers are one of the most aware of Duty / Tax Free services of the nationalities we have included in our research - just 12% were unaware of an available service on their trip. Recall is slightly higher for on-board stores (65% vs. 63% on-land) and for younger travellers (90%).

Of Taiwanese travellers aware of a Duty / Tax Free service, 94% go onto browse the offering. Visiting is slightly higher on-board the ship (58% vs. 55% on- land) with Souvenirs and Confectionery being the most popular categories among Taiwanese travellers engaging with the service.
PURCHASING
94% of Taiwanese travellers browsing the Duty / Tax Free offerings go on to make a purchase (78% of total travellers). An equal level of purchasing occurs on-board and on-land (53%), with most purchased categories including Confectionery, Souvenirs and Beauty.
