Industry Insider:
Asian Cruise Traveller Duty & Tax Free Retail
2.1.3 SINGAPOREAN
Relalively strong awareness of Duty / Tax Free Retail opportunities exists among Singaporean cruise travellers, with 85% being aware of a service on their most recent trip.
Despite this, of the nationalities we included in our research, Singaporeans
are the least likely to make a purchase, with less than two-thirds making a purchase during their trip. On-board recall and purchasing is stronger among Singaporeans which could be considered fairly surprising due to recent retail investments at the Singapore Cruise Centre.
AWARENESS
Our research shows that 85% of Singaporean cruise travellers recalled Duty / Tax Free services on their most recent trip. This is higher for on-board services, which is slightly surprising as previously mentioned, and is also higher for female passengers (92% vs. 77% among males).
