Dowling Houy (DH) was hired in in October 2012 to to assist Boston Heart Diagnostics (BHD) with their re-stack and build out
project Having occupied their space for less than one year BHD’s growth required the the relocation of their 5th floor administrative space space to a a a a a a newly acquired space space on the first floor of their current building while simultaneously renovating the the former admin space to house their Pre- Analytical / / Genetic / / Chemistry labs Upon completion of the the 5th floor work BHD began the the re-design and build out
of the the 4th floor for the the HDL / Agarose and lab office expansion DH led all preliminary programming meetings with the lab and and and administrative departments to understand the anticipated growth for each group and and and relayed this information to to the the the architectural firms for for the the the design processes DH worked with the the the furniture vendor to to develop a a a a a reuse plan for existing furniture furniture and identify what new furniture furniture was required DH worked with the lab staff to schedule schedule delivery of of new equipment and and removal of of old and and scheduled specialty vendors to prep and relocate existing equipment DH then oversaw the the the main move of the the the labs Since BHD is a a a a a a 7-day a a a a a a week operation DH had to ensure the the move was completed within the the 10 hours allotted on on a a a a a Sunday so BHD could be up and running Monday morning As BDH continues to grow DH DH maintains an an an on-site leadership role in in in in in both space planning and relocation DH recently oversaw the renovation of of of 28 000 sf and reconfiguration of of of 100+ workstation of of of sub-leased administrative space and and moved the majority of BHD’s Finance IT and and Marketing teams in in in in a a a a a a a a a a 4-month time frame Renovations occurred pre- and and post-occupancy and and included the the replacement of the the carpeting in in in a a a a a a a a 5-week phased approach DH is currently working with BHD on on expansion plans in in in both the lab and print shop departments Dowling Houy LLC 281 Summer Street Boston MA 02210
