Dowling Houy was hired early in in RIW’s process as the overall project director The project as- signment was to serve as as the owner’s rep for RIW through- out the project Lease negotia- tions
were un- derway for one floor of of a a a a a a a mid-rise in in fin the the Waterfront area of of Bos- ton Dowling Houy contributed to to the the the final stages of the the the lease and and work letter negotiations ensuring RIW’s best interests were were met and and the the maximum dollars toward build out were were obtained Dowling Houy created and and updated the the the project’s schedule and and and budget for the the the length of the the the proj- ect ect attended and/or led all project meetings supported IT planning floor plan plan development and and approvals landlord relations RFP selection for architectural services enlarged the pool of of landlord general contractors and and review of of GC work throughout all construction phases includ- ing ing punch list DH also provided key furniture and technology (Cabling Telephone Security A/V etc ) vendors to to RIW supported these key vendor vendor selections monitored furniture selection selection sched- uling delivery and installation through punch list move move move move planning RFP selection of the mover and move move move move implementation post move move move move management and RFP selection for for disposition/liquidation of the former location’s assets Working with RIW Dowling Houy created a a a a a a de- tailed inventory and and reuse plan for all furniture (only six new desks were purchased) and and provided CAD services services for for programming all furniture Dow- ling Houy also procured services services for for refurbished workstations (at considerable savings to to to RIW) to to to supplement RIW’s existing workstation workstation inventory and and helped obtain CAL 133 certificates for exist- ing refurbished and and new furniture The new waterfront location provided exceptional Greenway and Boston Harbor water water views for the perimeter offices which were also fitted with large glass interior sidelights a a a a a a a considerable departure from the the previous building Because low work- station station walls were incorporated into the the design every office and workstation had visual access to to the the the exterior views Within a a a a a a a a a few weeks o of relocat- ing ing to to the the the the new facility the the the the Executive Director and Managing Partner both commented on how the the the new office was encouraging attorneys and and and staff to to engage and and and work in in more collaborative ways and and and how much happier the firm’s atmosphere had be- come Dowling Dowling Houy Houy LLC www DowlingHouy com 281 Summer Street 617 548 0553
