Earning Pay When You’re Not Working
Paid Time Off (PTO)
To help you better balance your work and your personal time off, PriMed has the following Paid Time Off (PTO)
schedule. This schedule gives you time off for vacation, those periodic "mental health days," or when you
happen to become ill for a period of up to five consecutive workdays. The PTO schedule tops off at 30 days of
PTO per year for any employee completing 15 or more years of service.

Extended Sick Leave (ESL)
PriMed provides paid Extended Sick Leave (ESL) benefits that an employee may use for absences of more than
five consecutive workdays if certain conditions are met. All regular full- and part-time employees accrue six
days (based on full-time hours worked) of ESL per year. ESL is accrued on a pro-rata basis at the rate of .023077
hours per non-overtime hour paid. The first five consecutive workdays of absence will be charged to Paid Time
Off (PTO). Workdays in excess of five consecutive workdays of absence shall be charged to ESL provided you
have timely submitted the appropriate physician certification to the People Services Department. If an
employee has no remaining ESL, then the employee’s PTO account will be used to supplement pay while the
employee remains absent.
