Sports The Dinuba Sentinel Cal Ripken Youth Baseball sign-ups
Coming off a tremendous season in which Dinuba Cal Ripken captured the District 10 title and nearly a state title. Sign ups for the league will be held on January 19 & 26 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in front of the gym at Dinuba Junior High in front of the gym. The league is geared for ages 5-12 and the season begins in February. Registration fee is $100. For more information, contact Jose Guido at 559-679-0474.

The 4th annual Andrew Bedoya Holiday Classic begins next week from Dec. 12-15. The tournament will have 16 teams with games being held at Dinuba High and Reedley High gymnasiums.
Dinuba starts off the tournament against Orosi on
Wednesday, Dec. 12, at 8 p.m. The tournament ends on Dec. 15 with the championship game at 7:30 p.m.
Other teams participating include Mt. Whitney, Madera South, Porterville, Central Valley Christian, Hanford, Kennedy, Reedley, McLane, Tulare Union, Righetti-Santa Maria, Golden West, Monache and Selma.

years and younger can register for an upcoming clinic by Riptide Golf from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, December 15 at the Ridge Creek Golf Course.
Coach Mike Harness, a former golf professional, will be on hand along with other golf coaches to work with athletes.

to six points.
“They started guarding the 3-point line a little bit better,” Schofield
said.
Magaña helped DHS get out quickly with a pair of 3s as Tulare
Western found themselves down 8-0. The Mustangs would score their first basket with 3:30 in the first quarter on a 3 from Zack Ball. Both teams traded baskets as the Emperors led 16-12 entering the
second quarter.
Dinuba then went on a 16-4 run that was jump-started on a 3 from
Rodriguez. After a pair of free throws by Ball, the Emperors got a lay-up from Issak Flores followed by 3s from Elias Flores, Magaña, Sebastian Garza and a basket by Jacob Rodriguez.
The largest lead of the game was by 22 points after a 3 by Rodriguez, 41-19. The Mustangs closed the first half with five straight points.
Rodriguez and Magaña led Dinuba in scoring with 17 points apiece.
On Thursday night, Dinuba outscored visiting Madera High 16-7 in the fourth quarter to nail down a 61-52 non-league win.
The Emperors got out to a quick start scoring the game’s first nine points and led 38-26 at halftime before Madera turned the tables with a strong third quarter tying the game at 45 all.
Rodriguez had a solid evening with 19 points, 11 rebounds, five steals and four blocks.
Magaña had 11 points, three rebounds and five steals while Garza added eight points.
In their season opener at Corcoran on November 27, DHS cruised to an 85-49 win.
Rodriguez led the team with 28 points, nine rebounds and five blocks. Magaña had 16 points and S. Garza had 14. J. Rodriguez contributed eight points and five rebounds.
Dinuba will be playing in the Kingsburg tournament and will face Selma tonight at 8 p.m. in Kingsburg.
