Since the last edition it has been a very busy year for the Quarter Master Technical department working tire-
lessly behind the scenes with the return of the Regiment from OP TOSCA and the onset of COVID pandemic.
During this period, department personnel have deployed on various operations such as Op BLANCA, Op TOSCA and Exercise SUNDERLAND DAGGER to mention a few.
Bdr Adams was fortunate enough to be able to take time away from his normal role within the department and deploy to Afghanistan on Op BLANCA 19 where he was appointed as the G4 support JNCO for the Special Operation Advisory Group (SOAG). While there he supervised the storage, issue and receipt of SOAG weap- ons and supported all G4 issues and provided accurate accounting through developed MJDI. He administrated over 100 weekly, monthly and quarterly AinU musters across 6 UKSF location, which he then reported to the Op TORAL Kabul Unit QM’s Dept.
The department had the honour to organ- ised Rangiriri day as part of 94 (New Zea- land) Headquarters Battery (94 HQ Bty), which is commemorated on 20th Nov every year. Rangiriri day is an opportunity for members of 94(NZ) HQ Bty to com- memorate the actions of their predeces-

sors who fought at Rangiriri, New Zea- land during the Maori Wars in 1863. The RQMS(T) and Sgt Gharti were the driving force behind the delivery of this year’s Bat- tery birthday celebrations.
In-between all the Regimental business the department have also been able to facilitate an Artillery logistic level two course which has been central in the men- toring support to develop our future logis- tic Gunners. The course was held in Alan- brooke barracks to internal and external students from RA units and was delivered by WO2 Cloudsdale RQMS(T) and Sgt Gharti-Magar the course was a success.
With the pandemic of Covid-19, Ex SUN- DERLAND DAGGER in Otterburn had to be cut short and the department had to switch fire and concentrate on backload- ing all of the Brigade ammunition (circa 8000 rds) this became a high priority task for the team. Following that the depart- ment than had to adapt to the new Covid orbat in order to support the Project Nightingale and mobile testing unit task through providing vehicle fleets and tech- nical equipment support. Throughout the summer and autumn, the department has provided a service at all times and recently ensure that 150 personnel could deploy to
Liverpool to conduct Covid mass testing in good order.
With department’s significant appetite for extra curricula activities, the QMT and RQMS(T) having never attempting it, decided to tackle the Yorkshire 3 Peaks. With determination and glorious weather, they completed the walk in an impressive time of 7 hours and 30 minutes.
The Technical Department has seen sig- nificant changes with many coming and goings of the key appointment and would like the following all the best in their new appointments: Capt Scott Gray RA (now Maj), WO2 (RQMS) Cartwright and RFM SSgt Hockney (now MTWO).
