ROTARY CLUB
Thrapston and Raunds
Firstly we wish all readers a Happy New Year. January is usually a busy time for Rotary. In the New Year we usually get into a period
of organising youth competitions and fund raising events. We hope that this January will follow a similar pattern.
Covid permitting, we hope to run our annual Rotary Young Musician event at Manor School on January 21st. We hope that local schools, music teachers, music groups and individuals will be able to take part in a competition in which young people from the Thrapston and Raunds area have been very successful in the past. There is no cost to enter and this club will pay for the entry costs of those who progress
to the next round in the District Competition. For the first time in quite a few years one of the District semi finals is also expected to take place in Thrapston Primary School on 26th February 2022. Please phone 01933 624527 or message
us via Facebook for full details and entry forms. Entries should be received by 14th January.
We also start the year with a guest speaker at our first meeting of the year when Louise Gurney from Cransley Hospice will be talking about the work of the hospice. Club member Alan Dodds raised £1,026.90 for the Hospice when he ran the Great North Run in September 2021.
Do you want to get out and enjoy a fun evening? Help us to us raise money for Rotary supported charities by entering a team in our annual Charity Quiz. Watch out for further information on posters and on our Facebook page.
