McDade. His visit underscored the significance of the ACF’s role in developing future leaders and promoting excellence. During his time at the camp, Brigadier McDade took the opportunity to meet with cadets and instructors, observing the high standards of training and dedication on display.
A highlight of Brigadier McDade's visit was his presentation of two Commander’s Coins, a prestigious award given to individuals who have gone above and beyond and truly stand out from the crowd. The presentation of a Commander’s Coin is a praiseworthy recognition, and the
two recipients had demonstrated exceptional commitment, leadership, and motivation during the run up to camp through difficult times and of course motiving the cadets during camp.
Annual Camp 2024 was also a time of celebration and progression for both cadets and adult volunteers. Numerous promotions took place throughout the camp, recognising the hard work, dedication, and leadership shown by individuals. Cadets who had excelled in their training, demonstrated leadership potential, and

embodied the ACF values were promoted to higher ranks, marking a significant step forward in their cadet careers.
In addition, several volunteers were also promoted, acknowledging their invaluable contribution to the ACF and their role in mentoring and guiding the young cadets. The promotions were a testament to the shared commitment across the ACF, with both cadets and adults working together to create an environment of growth, challenge, and achievement.
It goes without saying, that adult volunteers are a special breed, and this was celebrated as three of them received their Cadet Force Medal for 12 years’ service with the ACF, whilst Major Chris Ledger was presented his first bar to the Cadet Force Medal, and Major John Lomas was presented his third. What a truly remarkable achievement.
An integral part of training for cadets is Adventure Training. Challenging all ranks to
take part in activities that they wouldn’t normally get to do, they enjoyed an exciting two day of adventure training at North Yorkshire Water Park.
