Jason Royce, Director of Souster Youth, explains how the groups they run can help the mental health, confidence and happiness of our youngsters in an often challenging world.
When was Souster Youth established?
Souster Youth was started in 2016 when we started going into a local school to offer mental health support. But our roots go back to the amazing Barbara Souster whose family gave us our name. She was known as ‘Miss Souster’ by local young people and did decades
school leaders who helped me understand
the challenges their young people were experiencing. They told me about some students who were harming themselves and others
who were very anxious. I explained how our
of amazing work to help and support
young people to find purpose and enjoyment in their lives.
What made you choose Thrapston? We noticed that this part of Northamptonshire is often neglected in terms of provision for young people and we wanted to change that, so we did!
