Beavers, Cubs and Scouts?
We have had a busy end to our scouting term. In June we had our District Camp with over 400 Beavers, Cubs & Scouts attended from all over the District 2nd Thrapston and had 9 Cubs &
2 Beavers attend. There were many activities: shooting, archery, evening bbq & disco and of course camp fires. It was a full on weekend and was enjoyed by everyone that attended.
Our Beavers had the chance to try their hand at Bowling and went to Thrapston Bowling Club to take part. They had a very enjoyable evening and did very well. Many thanks to Thrapston Bowling Club.
Our end of term activity was a night at Rock Up at Rushden Lakes. There were 29 children climbing and was a nice end to the term.
Scout Section
So far as a group we have a Beaver section (6 to 8 years) and a Cub section (8 to 10 years), there is another section Scouts (10 to 14 years).
It is very rewarding helping the young people to be part of a wider community with games, activities, trips, camping, helping out in the community and to be part of the wider scouting family.
We are re-opening this section in September so that we can offer scouting to 10 to 14-year-
olds but we need your help. We need adult volunteers to help us run this section. It would be at the Primary School on a Wednesday evening and would run from 6.15pm to 7.30pm. If you are able to help us then please get in touch with us.
We are a growing group that relies on volunteers to help run the sections and we are looking for adults to help in the Beaver and Scout sections. We also need volunteers to go onto our executive committee. We have roles to fit every lifestyle and skillset with
all the relevant training provided. If you
are interested, please contact us at 2nd- thrapston@nenevalleyscouts.org
