The Regional Command PD Branch has continued to drive forward some key work-strands and initiatives over the last 12 months. They include, but are not limited to; greater governance of Physical Training Equipment expenditure, enhanced scrutiny of the Servicing and Maintenance contract, refinement of the Army Sports Trophies Competition rules and overall command & coordination of the British Military Contingent (BMC), Nijmegen Marches.
Whilst most of you will be familiar with the various outputs previously listed, Nijmegen Marches may not be so well-known. This is an international marching event which takes place annually (July) in and around the town of Nijmegen. Its scale is impressive, with more than 45,000 participants taking part, 7000 being military personnel from many nations. Indeed, the UK tri-Service and cadet contribution is the second largest military contingent at the event.
In total, Regional Command PD Branch (which includes WO1 Painter) manage the deployment of over 1000 Service personnel. This includes participants (~800 personnel), admin and support staff, chefs and a fully functioning Field Hospital. The
