2018 held in Flacau, Austria. They competed in three disciplines; The GPS, Freestyle and Boarder Cross. The team came out on top and took the RA Major unit Champions title for a 5th year running.
The RAPTC Rowing Team joined forces with Cancer Research UK in March 18 with members from all over the UK completing a marathon distance on a rower to raise funds for the charity. They raised over £2000 between them for a great cause. SSgt Baldwin
reluctantly took on the challenge after being scarred for life after completing a 24 hour row in 2016.
Looking forward, 29 Commando Regiment Royal Artillery has some upcoming exercises and AT expeditions to look forward to and finally – both the RAPTCIs will be leading from the front and taking a team up to Spean Bridge – Fort William to compete at the annual Commando Speed March with the hope of gaining a podium place.

Since my last MBS notes, I have handed the controls over up at 39 Engr Regt and moved South of the wall to South Cerney.
For those of you who don’t know, 29 Regt RLC are the only unit in the UK Armed Forces to have postal Couriers as a Trade, this in turn requires masses of diversity when it comes to short deployments and taskings. 29 Regt also has the Movement Controller Trade and they are tasked with moving personnel and vehicles via Land, Sea and Air across all three services anywhere in the world where the Armed Forces are currently deployed
The facilities are due to be updated at South Cerney with the new 6 million pounds gymnasium being unveiled in the early spring. The real estate and training area means the Regiment’s sport can thrive on a Wednesday sports afternoon.
The Commanding Officer’s shield which is the main crux of the Friday sessions sees the Squadrons go head to head in numerous sporting and green training events, this helps include a variation in the FOE of training which keeps the soldiers enthused at all levels.
To summarise an operationally tuned unit with the right attitude towards PD. The unit now look forward to numerous BCS exercises, 2 weeks Type 2 AT in Germany and upcoming Inter Sqn Boxing in the late summer.
