  2388 (Castleford) Squadron Dinner
Recently 2388 (Castleford) Squadron celebrated with a return to the King's Croft Hotel for a dining in night.
66 Cadets, staff and guests assembled to look back over the last two years, to mark the recent achievements of the cadets and to recognise the work by people to keep the squadron running during lockdown. Special recognition was made to Mrs. Jean Garside, Mr Brian De-Luchi and Mrs. Laura De-Luchi as members of the civilian committee who have each served the air cadets for over 20 years
Due to the hard work of Flight Lieutenant Victoria Williamson the Squadron was able to resume shooting. By working on leadership and shooting skills, cadets were able to achieve their blue foundation leadership badges which were presented by Wing Commander Brian Daniel during the evening.
Cadets were also recognised for their work in achieving the bronze cyber award and blue level leadership award. Wing Commander Daniel spoke in glowing terms about the achievements of the staff and cadets over the difficult time. He also encouraged the new cadets to take advantage of the experiences Air Cadets has to offer. The cadets were
a credit to the squadron and enjoyed the evening of celebration and comradeship with fellow cadets and staff.
 SUMMER CONCERT BAND
By Pilot Officer Malcolm Titley
During August I had the pleasure of taking a small group of Cadets along with Sgt Nigel Simpson to see the RAFAC Summer Concert Band perform at St Wulfram's Church in Grantham.
We had a truly memorable night treated to Outstanding Music enhanced by the setting and acoustics of the Church; and were fortunate to catch up with
the Commandant and Former Commandant Air Cadets, Air Commodores Tony Keeling and Dawn McCafferty, together with Wing Commander Gil Singleton, the Principal Director of Music.
This is what we do...
and who we are...
