First to enter the arena were The Band and Bugles of The Rifles playing their rousing bugle marches. After their complex and entertaining display they were joined by the other remaining bands and male voice choir to start the finale, under the direction of Major Burton (retired), of the 1812 Overture involving the 105mm light guns of 104 Regiment Royal Artillery. The performance was concluded with a Sunset Ceremony played on bugle by the Assistant Bugle Major, to bring the day’s military involvement to a spectacular close.
