Perspective from Pakistan
Maj Shahzad Inayat
ACSC 24 HAD THREE participants from Pakistan, with one officer each from Pakistan Air Force, Navy and Army. Even before our arrival here in the UK, our expectations from the course were lowered due to the uncertainty associated with COVID- 19 restrictions. Like everyone else, we faced difficulties in adjusting
to online learning environment
and working from home. However,
several activities were still
administered by the Defence
Academy and the international
cohort within the restrictions. While
the special circumstances made
our experience different from our
predecessors, it was in no way“any much deeper and lasting in my opinion. less in its richness and quality.

a priceless experience of
engaging with a diverse set of refined professionals. And, as a whole, I could see a pleasantly unexpected sense of unity within the international students, mostly because of the physical absence of the UK students for the most part and of their families for the entirety of the course. The connections made amongst
attitudes during the events by the end of the course. Finally, on behalf of my international colleagues of ACSC 24 and
the Pakistani officers, I can confidently state how deeply we acknowledge the efforts of the Defence Academy and its staff to make this course run despite the challenges. We thank everyone involved for the rewarding year and hope that our paths will cross again to cherish the present in the coming future.
