her shoulders and peeped through her daughter's bedroom door. Paris was asleep with a purple duvet pulled over her shoulders. Lottie closed the door.
In the kitchen, Lottie took a bag of bread rolls, a pat of goats' cheese and parsnip relish from her pantry and went to the sink to wash a bunch of watercress.
'Charlie will be home in half an hour,' she thought, as she looked at the kitchen clock.
