When Charlie Rabbit and Sam Hedgehog heard how bad the mess was, they sent Simon Blackbird to Barns Wood for help. Volunteers came forward, eager and pleased to restore Badger's home.
The animals completed the structural work and Alfie found some discarded kitchen units. They added the finishing touches with hand-made cushions and curtains. They even had time to re-frame broken family pictures. Sam and Matty Hedgehog removed the damaged front door and installed a solid model with a strong padlock.
'I do hope he likes it,' said Sadie Squirrel as they were leaving.
