Peace with God

The peace He obtained was peace between
God and man! Jesus closed the chasm between
God and man! Now man can be one with God.
He can be whole with God. Man can enjoy the
presence of His Maker. The Creator can enjoy
the fellowship of His creation. Man is recon-
ciled to God. This is the meaning of “peace
with God” in the following passage.
Rom. 5:1 Therefore being justified by faith, we
have peace with God through our Lord Jesus
Christ.
Rom. 5:8 But God commendeth his love
toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners,
Christ died for us.
Rom. 5:9 Much more then, being now jus-
tified by his blood, we shall be saved [Greek
sozo] from wrath through him.
Rom. 5:10 For if, when we were enemies,
we were reconciled to God by the death of his
Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be
saved [sozo] by his life.
Rom. 5:11 And not only so, but we also joy in
God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom
we have now received the atonement.
To get their point across, I have heard some
preachers divide the word like this: At-one-
ment. One with God!
