Safety Memo #39 (A) – LA County Mask Mandate Update
Date: March 4, 2022
To: ACI ALL
[ LA County Mask Mandate Update ]
On March 3, 2022, LA County Department of Public Health released an updated Health Officer Order that took effect on
March 4, 2022. Following the updated guidance from the state of California, the following pertinent updates to the mask
mandate were implemented:
• “Masks continue to be required for indoor settings with higher risks for transmission: Public Transit,
Transportation Hubs, All Healthcare Settings, including Long Term Care and Adult and Senior Care Facilities,
Correctional Facilities and Detention Centers, Homeless Shelters, and Emergency Shelters.”
o For ACI employees working on projects at the above facilities, please continue to follow the COVID‐19
rules and requirements in place.
• “Masks are strongly recommended, but not required, for all persons, regardless of vaccine status, in other
indoor public settings and businesses. Well‐fitting medical masks or respirators (e.g., N95s, KN95s, and KF94s)
are highly recommended.”
o ACI still recommends our employees to wear masks at work sites and offices, regardless of vaccination
status, to help reduce the risk of COVID‐19 transmission while at work.
• “Employers are required to offer medical grade masks or respirators to employees who work indoors and in
contact with other workers, customers, or members of the public in settings where there is optional masking.”
o ACI will continue to provide masks to our employees on a monthly basis to help reduce the risk of
COVID‐19 transmission while at work.
