Zero Vector: The vector whose initial and terminal points are same is called the zero vector. AA is
an example of zero vector. Its magnitude is zero and its direction is undetermined. It’s denoted by
                   0 (0,0) .

Length (Norm) of a Vector: The length of a vector is the distance between the tail and the head of
the vector. The length of a vector u AB is denoted as u  AB .

                                                  u  AB  (c a) 2  (d b) 2

Example 3: The points A(3, 7) and B(6, 11) are given. Find the components of AB and magnitude
                  of it.

Example 4: The points A(x, -9) and B(-2, 6) are given. If AB  17 units , find the possible values of
                  x.

                                                               1 3 
                  Example 5: Find the magnitude of the vector u   ,  .
                                                               
                                                               2 2 

Unit Vector: A vector whose length is 1 unit is called unit vector.
                                   1 
                  Example 6: If u   ,a is a unit vector, find a.
                                       
                                   2 

                                                             3
                                                                                                                                                       091math-wb-w1-(Vector)
