Legal action by Ainées pour la protection du climat (ainees-climat.ch)

Public hearing in Strasbourg on 29 March 2023
The hearing of our legal action before the Grand Chamber of the European Court of
Human Rights in Strasbourg took place on 29 March 2023.

We are now awaiting the judgement, which will be handed down at the end of the year
            at the earliest.

Why we are taking legal action

Global warming is already responsible for ill-health. We, the elderly, are the population
group most strongly affected by the increased heat, as the damage to our health and
our mortality are particularly high. We must also act now to protect future generations
from even worse effects. We are taking legal action because everything we hold dear is
            at stake.

Although our fundamental rights are under threat, the authorities responsible are doing
too little to limit global warming to an acceptable level. That is why we are taking legal
action for the climate. If you are a woman of retirement age and live in Switzerland, you
can become a member of a group. You may also support our legal action if you are not
a senior citizen or if you live in another country. You can also support us by making a
            donation.

The legal action is a project of the Swiss Senior Citizens for Climate Protection. We are
supported by Greenpeace Switzerland and other organisations.
