The following amendment would fulfill the Study Committee Recommendation to Reduce the Number of At-Large Directors:
Article VIII. Section 2. Term of Office.
At the annual election of members, to be held at the meeting of the association in November, 1944, following the adoption of these amended bylaws, the directors to be elected to fill the office of those whose terms expire at said meeting shall be elected for a term of one (1) year only.
At the annual meeting of the members to be held in November, 1945, the directors representing the even-numbered districts and two directors-at-large shall be elected for a term of one (1) year, and the directors representing the odd-numbered districts, and one director-at-large, shall be elected for a term of two (2) years.
At the 2018 annual meeting of the association, following the adoption of these amended bylaws, the directors-at-large to be elected to fill the office of those whose terms expire at said meeting shall be elected for a term of one (1) year only, and directors representing the even-numbered districts shall be elected for terms of two (2) years.
At the 2019 annual meeting of the association, two directors-at-large shall be elected for terms of two (2) years, and directors representing the odd-numbered districts shall be elected for terms of two (2) years.
Thereafter at all elections of directors, the directors shall be elected for a term of two (2) years each, and until their successors are elected and qualified.
The directors nominated by the Michigan Farm Bureau Young Farmer Committee and the Michigan Farm Bureau Promotion and Education Committee shall be elected for a term of one (1) year. (As amended November 8, 1956; November 8, 1967; November 30, 1978; December 10, 1986; and , 2018.)
