 Ellipsis: three dots in a printed text, which show where
   one or more words have been intentionally left out.

 Hyphen: the mark that joins two words or syllables
   together, or shows that a word has been divided into two
   parts at the end of one line and the beginning of the next
   e.g. co-ordination.

 Dash: the mark that is utilised to separate parts of a
   sentence

 Oblique line = Oblique stroke "British English" = Slash:
   the mark that can be utilised to separate letters, numbers or
   words.

 Round brackets "British English" = Parentheses
   "American English": the punctuation marks that are put
   around a word, phrase or sentence in writing to show that
   the items they include should be considered separate from
   the main part.

 Square brackets "British English" = brackets "American
   English": the brackets that are shaped like two halves of a
   square.
