案件分享 新北市癱瘓狗照養案件
INVESTIGATION CASE
PARALYZED DOG IN NEW TAIPEI CITY
調查部門日前接獲民眾通報，附近老犬癱瘓，由 於飼養地點位於路邊，無法活動下造成動物身上 形成褥瘡，雖然報案人時常經過並給予協助，但 不見飼主有改善飼養方式，因此請協會協助了解 動物照養狀況。由於案件在通報給TSPCA之前， 報案人已與新北市動保處報案過，因此調查部門 以協助追蹤案情的方式進行調查。根據了解，動 物因病造成下肢癱瘓，飼主曾帶去就醫但醫師表 示無法痊癒，建議安寧照護，飼主會聽動物叫喚 時協助狗狗翻身，也會定時清掃生活環境，並非 置之不理。得知消息後好心的報案人也持續協助 動物翻身、換布墊，協會也將持續追蹤並適時協 助飼主讓動物有更好的安寧生活。
動物跟人一樣也會老化，老了在身體機能漸漸降低下常常會有許 多不可預期的病痛，而寵物不但是一個寶貴的生命，更是您的家 人，帶生病或受傷的寵物就醫，是飼主應盡的義務，也是責任。 調查部門除了呼籲大家不要忽略自家毛孩的病痛外，也感謝本案 的報案人熱心協助，讓動物能得到更好的照顧及更多來自人類的 溫暖。此外，也提醒民眾若發現有飼主的動物健康狀況不佳，您 可以直接與飼主溝通，或通報TSPCA與地方主管機關。但要小心 不要任意餵食或破壞他人物品，除了在不了解動物腸胃狀況下， 任意餵食可能導致動物消化不良造成其他傷害，破壞他人物品將 動物放走更有可能會觸法或是失去有效物證，反而讓案件更難處 理喔!
A case was reported to us regarding an elderly dog that seemed to have been abandoned by the side of the road. The reporter described the dog as having bad sores on his body due to being immobilized. Because the reporter had already reported the same case to New Taipei City’s Animal Protection Office, TSPCA reached out to the office for more information. According to their investigation, the elderly dog’s hind legs were paralyzed. The dog’s owner had taken the dog to the vet’s but the doctor told him that it was non treatable and that he should just put the dog in hospice care. The owner claims that the dog still eats and is very unwilling to put the dog down. He does flip the dog from time to time to prevent bedsores. The TSPCA will continue to check up on the dog and provide him with more help such as a possible wheelchair or bedding for paralyzed animals.
We would like to remind everyone, like humans, animals also age and may be more prone to illness. It is a pet owner’s duty and responsibility to care for the animal until the very end.
