Focuses on single notes or swaras
Fundamental sequences enable the student to get a feel of
melody with rhythm
Intially students are introduced to basic lessons in the raga
Mayamalavagowla. However, advanced level students may
attempt these in various other sampoorna ragas
Initial focus has to be on getting the swara sthanas right.
Later focus on the thala or rhythm.
At the end of this lesson, students should have gain
mastery over the swara sthanas (position of swaram in
the vocal chords) in the raga taught.
