GRACE, Exploring Its Riches
Jesus warns us against this form of change in Luke
12:1-3.
“In the meantime, when an innumerable
multitude of people had gathered together, so that
they trampled one another, He began to say to His
disciples first of all, “Beware of the leaven of the
Pharisees, which is hypocrisy. For there is nothing
covered that will not be revealed, nor hidden that
will not be known. Therefore whatever you have
spoken in the dark will be heard in the light, and
what you have spoken in the ear in inner rooms
will be proclaimed on the housetops.”
What is hypocrisy? Hypocrisy is acting under a feigned or
false part. This is deceit. Apostle Paul cites one such
example in 2 Corinthians 11:12-15.
“But what I do, I will also continue to do, that
I may cut off the opportunity from those who
desire an opportunity to be regarded just as we
are in the things of which they boast. For such
are false apostles, deceitful workers,
transforming themselves into apostles of
Christ. And no wonder! For Satan himself
transforms himself into an angel of light.
Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers
also transform themselves into ministers of
