QUESTION TO AGENT: How can
                                                                  sellers be sure they have picked a
                                                                  diligent, honest, motivated agent -
                                                                  one who will work hard to achieve the

                                                                  best possible sales result, in the least
                                                                  stressful way, for their clients?




                                                                  AGENT ANSWER: You can’t. There
                                                                  is no sure-fire formula sellers can
                                                                  follow to help them identify a good

                                                                  agent – but don’t despair – there are
                                                                  practical steps that can be taken to
                                                                  help to narrow down the agents on
                                                                  your shortlist:





                                                                        Attend open home in your
                                                                        suburb. See how the agents
                                                                 1 interact with buyers during
                                                                  the viewing – are they bored or
                                                                  indifferent? Do they attend their

                                                                  own open homes or pass the job
                                                                  off to their PA? Note how the agent
                                                                  engages with the buyers. Do they
                                                                  show the home with enthusiasm?

                                                                  Can they demonstrate area
                                                                  knowledge and are they able to
                                                                  give a verifiable picture of the local
                                                                  market? Can they answer your
                                                                  questions about the home? If they
                                                                  can’t, what are they going to do

                                                                  about it? Do they follow up with
                                                                  the answer ASAP? If they do, they
                                                                  are likely to follow up all leads and
                                                                  buyers when selling your home.
