Diploma in Agriculture




               DURATION : 2 Years or 4 Semesters

               The  Diploma  in  Agriculture  is  a  two-year  programme  designed
               for individuals seeking knowledge of crop and livestock farming,
               with the view of being self-employed or gaining employment as

               skilled  agricultural  assistants  or  technicians.  It  also  provides  a
               solid  practical  foundation  for  those  who  wish  to  pursue  further

               academic studies.
               The core areas covered are livestock husbandry, crop husbandry
               and principles of agriculture. In addition, students are trained in

               tractor  operations,  preventative  maintenance,  farm  structures,

               irrigation  and  drainage  and  are  required  to  take  courses  in
               Communication  Skills,  Occupational  Health,  Safety  and  Welfare
               and Work Ethics.

               The  combination  of  core  and  related  courses,  together  with  a
               14-week  industrial  attachment,  results  in  well-rounded

               graduates  who  readily  find  employment  in  the  agricultural
               sector.
