Animal Husbandry

DURATION: 1 year or 2 semesters

The one-year Certificate in Animal Husbandry programme

caters to individuals who are interested in the commercial
production of livestock.
It provides participants with training in the theoretical and
practical aspects of raising sheep, goats, rabbits, dairy and
beef cattle, pigs and poultry.
The husbandry practices associated with each class of
livestock are examined inciuding feeding, housing, care of

the young, and general health care.
Students participate in a period of industrial attachment
during this programme.
ln addition, courses in related areas such as Communication
Skills, Farming as a Business and Work Ethics provide
students with the training required to function as skilled
workers or as entrepreneurs.
