Page 44 - Terri 60 years
P. 44
I
feel like the stars aligned for me in September 1979 when I
arrived at Queen’s.
On my fi rst day of Frosh Week, I didn’t know anyone in my
Commerce frosh group, but I struck up a conversation with a
friendly looking girl named Terri and we agreed to meet in the
Vic Hall lobby to go for dinner at the Leonard Hall cafeteria. She
brought along her high school friend Katarina and I brought along
my roommate and high school pal Charmaine. And that was the
beginning of a 41 year friendship.
Terri and I ended up having a lot in common besides being in
Commerce ’83 together: we both love “I Love
Lucy”, David Bowie (only learned that a few
years ago), travel, and our parents got married
on the same day in 1959. I think we were
fated to be friends!
I cannot believe we’re entering our 7th
decade of life and 5th decade of friendship.
It’s been a very fun time and also had its sad
and hard times that are all part of the circle
of life.
Terri has always been up for an adventure
(note her Rocky Horror outfi t
in this photo) and willing to
try new things and see new
places.
I dearly hope that we’ll
be doing another road
trip or travel somewhere
together (near or far) soon,
and continue to enjoy time
together and adventures of
many types for many years!
Thank you for all the
wonderful memories Terri!
Happy happy birthday!
