NATIONAL JEWELLERY MUSEUM
A priceless collection of precious stones kept in the basement treasury of Iran's Central Bank. Among the
treasures from the age of the Safavid dynasty through the last shah of Iran, of particular interest are the
elaborate crowns and the globe made of 51,366 precious stones, with the seas made of emeralds and the
land masses of rubies. The crowning exhibit is one of the largest pink diamonds in the world, the famous Dar-
ya-i-Noor, or Sea of Light, at 182 carats.
