Page 34 - To know things we have to have the world inside us
P. 34
“There is light in shadows.
Is a shadow always black?”
“Shadows have colours.”
“I was waiting for a moment of insight. My shadow moved as I walked.
Where were the rays coming from?”
“I never noticed the shape. Smaller, huge shadows.
Confused, surprised. Different lighting, and angles.”
“The hole in the shadow is
light in the darkness
but the hole that makes the shadow
is darkness in the light.”
Throughout this reconnaissance we noticed a high level of playfulness and a desire to interact with the
shadows.
Teacher~researchers experimented with different ways of communicating their reconnaissance to the group
including animations and poetry. We noticed a growing trust within the group - a feeling that all offerings would
be welcomed as a contribution to the group’s coming~to~know.
