viii. To obtain, publish, initiate and maintain information relating to the construction industry including the establishment of a construction industry information system;
ix. To provide, promote, review and coordinate training in the construction industry;
x. To register, and accredit contractors, to impose any conditions of
registrations and accreditation of the contractors and to revoke, suspend
or reinstate the registration and accreditation;
xi. To register, accredit and certifying building personnel and to cancel,
suspend or reinstate registration, accreditation and certification of such
building personnel;
xii. Regulating implementation for quality and safe construction works;
xiii. To regulate the implementation of the Industrial Buildings System in the
construction industry; and
xiv. To manage any complaints or reports made in respect of any failure of
construction work or completed construction work affecting public safety and take appropriate action to handle it.
1.5 The Construction Industry Qualifications Framework (CIQF)
1.5.1 Purpose
The Construction Industry Qualifications Framework (CIQF) marks the first of its kind developed by the Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB). The CIQF takes into consideration the Guidelines for
